Wandering all over the world

I am just a fish

Universe is everything that exists anywhere. These lines were written hundreds of years ago. Those days the technology wasn't that advanced to find the limits of the universe.
The technology is still not advanced enough to reach the boundaries of the universe. Maybe in next few thousand years we will find a way to reach the boundaries of the universe. Does any such boundary exist? What happens when you reach the boundary of the universe and you try to set you foot outside the boundary? I can imagine few scenarios. Imagine that we are living inside an egg. The egg is our universe. One day science and technology advance so much that we are able to reach the boundary of the universe. What happens next? That depends on how the universe is programmed. It may happen that the moment our spacecraft tries to step outside the boundary, the universe expands so that the spacecraft is still inside the universe. It may also happen that the spacecraft disappears and pops up at the other end of the universe (from the U end to E end of the egg). It can also be like a closed room, when you encounter a wall in a room you have reached a dead end.
Can people living inside the egg know what exists outside the egg? I like the Universe zoom out in the MIB ending. I am sure God must be laughing at the stupidity of human seriousness.
